Can you pick a country for random matches?
No. When you start a random match on Flingster, there is no country setting to turn on. You choose how you want to talk — video, voice or text — and the system chooses who you meet, using its own matching. Where the other person is from is part of the surprise.
That is the whole idea of a random match: you tap once, someone new picks up, and if it is not clicking you move on. The choice you do have is how long you stay. In a call, Next becomes available after a short countdown and takes you straight to someone else; if the other person leaves first, Flingster matches you again on its own.
How do you know where your match is from?
Before a match connects, Flingster can show you a match card first. It carries the other person's nickname, age, country, level and the language they speak, so you get a sense of who is on the other side before the camera opens.
- Join now Start the call straight away.
- Next Skip this match and wait for a different one.
- Do nothing The call joins by itself after a short countdown.
The card is the place to notice the country and the language. If you would rather talk to someone who shares yours, Next is one tap — no explanation needed.
How to talk to someone from a specific country
Use the online list instead of a random match. That list shows people who are on Flingster right now, and it is the part of the site where you do the choosing.
- Open who's online. You will see cards for the people who are around at the moment.
- Filter by country. Narrow the list to the country you are interested in. Language tabs are there as well, if the language matters more to you than the place.
- Open a card or a profile. Have a look before you decide.
- Call her directly. Start the call from her card or profile.
Calls on Flingster use coins, and a notice shows up before billing starts, so it does not come as a surprise. The list only shows people who are online at that moment, so if nobody from that country is there when you look, check back later.
Random match or online list?
Both get you face to face with someone new; they just put the choice in different hands. A random match is the quick one: no browsing, a new face in seconds, and Next whenever you want to keep moving. The online list is the deliberate one: you pick the country or the language, look at a profile, and call the person you chose.
You can use both — random matches when you just want to meet someone, the list when you already know who you are looking for. More quick answers about matching, coins and your account are on Flingster help.
