What we collect
- Account details you give when you sign up with email or bind an email to your account. A guest account has none of these.
- Device and connection details — browser, device type, approximate location from your connection, and when you use the service. These make fraud and abuse checks possible.
- Usage — which features you use and how long calls last. Call length is also how charges are worked out.
- Payments go through a payment provider on its own page. Flingster does not take card numbers.
Your camera and microphone
Your browser asks before either is turned on, and a voice match only needs the microphone. They are used to carry a call while it is happening. Recording the other person is against the terms.
Messages and posts
When something is reported, the reason, details and any screenshots in the report are looked at to decide what happened. Posts and live-room chat can be seen by other people by design.
Who we share data with
Personal data is not sold. It is shared only with:
- companies that run parts of the service for us, such as payments, hosting and abuse prevention, under contract;
- authorities, when a valid legal request requires it or someone's safety is at risk.
How long we keep it
There is no single fixed period. Data is kept while any of these is true:
- your account is open;
- it is needed to settle a payment, a dispute, or a tax or accounting duty;
- it is needed to keep a removal in place;
- the law requires it, or an investigation is open.
When none of these applies any more, it is deleted.
Your choices and rights
- Block anyone, at once.
- Report someone during a call, or report a profile, a chat, a post or a live room.
- Hide your VIP badge if you are a member.
- Ask for your account to be deleted, for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected. Depending on where you live you may have more rights, and we will honour them.
Cookies and browser storage
A small amount of data is stored in your browser to keep you signed in, remember settings and spot abuse. Clearing it signs you out — and a guest account that was never bound to an email cannot be recovered after that.
Age
Flingster is not for anyone under 18. An account found to belong to someone under 18 is closed and its data removed.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
